MIS Spirit Day Brings Our Lynx Pride to Life!

MIS was bursting with energy and community pride as we celebrated Spirit Day! From the moment students arrived on campus, our school mascot, Leonard the Lynx, welcomed everyone to start the day with energetic music, dancing, and a photo session, where students lined up for pictures with Leonard, along with hugs and high-fives..

Decked in out in school pride in style, students and faculty sported MIS t-shirts, necklaces, and Lynx gear. A few cat ears were spotted as well! During the first hour of the school day, when students are normally in Let Grow play time, our community came together to enjoy fun and games at a variety of activity stations including Connect 4, bean toss, and Twister. Creativity was also in full swing as students made MIS bracelets to celebrate school pride and added a little extra fun with MIS tattoos.

To add to the excitement, students could enter into a raffle for a swag bag filled with MIS goodies, giving everyone something to look forward to at the end of the day when winners were announced.

One of the most meaningful parts of Spirit Day were the school-wide shoutouts. Throughout the day, students and faculty/staff wrote shout-outs to one another and dropped them off in a box. Parents and guardians also submitted shout-outs through an online form. These shout-outs were announced a few at time over our school PA system throughout the day, reminding all of us that MIS spirit is about how we show up for and appreciate one another.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day unforgettable- and to Leonard the Lynx for bringing the extra roar of school pride!
