Celebrating Unity Week at MIS
During the last week of October, MIS came together to celebrate Unity Week—a meaningful time for reflection, learning, and connection across our community. Throughout the week, students participated in classroom activities, themed days, and received Unity Week freebies like stickers, pins, and bracelets, all highlighting the importance of unity and inclusion. Faculty and staff joined in each day’s themes, helping create a shared experience across campus.
A highlight of the week was Anti-Racism Day, when classrooms engaged in thoughtful discussions and activities focused on fairness, empathy, and the impact of words and actions. These moments gave students the opportunity to reflect on how they can be active upstanders and contribute to a more inclusive and respectful community—both within MIS and beyond.
Teachers also integrated the week’s daily themes into their lessons, using curated resources and activity ideas to guide age-appropriate conversations across grade levels. These intentional experiences allowed students to connect big ideas about identity, respect, and belonging to their everyday lives.
Unity Week was filled with powerful moments of learning and reflection and served as a reminder that the unique qualities of our students and families are what make MIS such a strong and vibrant community. Thank you to our faculty and staff for the care and thoughtfulness they brought to making the week impactful for our students.
