Faculty Candidates

Candidates with graduate degrees and gifted education experience and credentials are preferred.

In more traditional schools, gifted learners are supported with advanced classes and accelerated programming. At MIS, we recognize that the the learning experience can more fully support the advanced cognitive and/or creative abilities of gifted learners by implementing the following strategies across the curriculum:
  • Exploring content in depth,
  • Navigating the complexity and interdisciplinary nature of content,
  • Thinking about the content’s abstractions and mysteries,
  • Creative application of learning,
  • Critical assessment of information and sources,
  • Accelerated delivery of content, and
  • Authentic and meaningful connections to the world.

Prior to joining us for an interview, please be prepared to discuss how your teaching philosophy, differentiation methods, presentation style, approach to pedagogy, and prior experiences support all of these components of the MIS classroom. Some positions require additional information and/ or demonstrations.
